BASIC COURSE X-LARGE (4-5-DAY COURSE)

The ultimate kitesurfing course for aspiring pros. The fastest way to learn how to kitesurf on your own and safely on the water. Here, you’ll learn everything there is to know about kitesurfing. The course includes theory, plenty of hands-on practice on the water, and free equipment rental after the course ends.

Procedure

Course Dates

Flexible course scheduling tailored to your needs. All beginner courses start on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, as well as on all holidays, at 10:00 a.m. at kitesurfing.at on Nord Nordstrand.

To ensure you get the most out of your learning experience, we recommend scheduling a second class the following day at 10:00 a.m. You can choose all other class times yourself . Classes are held every day at 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.

VDWS Kite License + Instructor Manual

For a fee of EUR 39, you can take the exam for the internationally recognized VDWS kite license as part of your course. Additional cost for the textbook: EUR 14

DETAILS ABOUT THE BEGINNER COURSES

Requirement

Good swimming skills—you’ll learn everything else at our kitesurfing school. Please bring sturdy shoes, athletic clothing (appropriate for the weather), sunscreen, a hat, swimwear, a towel, and sunglasses.

Onshore Training Session

Each course begins with a land-based training session, where you'll use a training mat to learn the basics of kite control. In your next session, you'll already be steering a tube kite in the water.

Water Training

In your first two water training sessions, you'll learn how to control the kite, how to move safely in the water (bodydrag), and you'll do your first exercises on the kiteboard.

Theory Module

A comprehensive theory session will teach you about the potential dangers of kitesurfing and give you a better understanding of weather conditions and equipment.

Kiteboard and Kite Control

The subsequent water sessions are designed to practice using the kiteboard in conjunction with kite control.

Handling the Kite

You'll practice handling the kite safely in unusual situations, including self-rescue, so that you can move safely around the water even without a kite instructor.

Wind & Weather

The exact course schedule depends on wind and weather conditions. Our wind guarantee applies here: You’ll receive a voucher for the remaining course elements.
