My name is Daniel. I’m the director of the kitesurfing school in Podersdorf on Lake Neusiedl—Get High – Kitesurfing.at—and I’ve been organizing kite camps at the most beautiful and coolest spots in the world for some time now. A trip like this is a magical experience, whether you just want to give the sport a try or get seriously into it. Unforgettable sundowners, unique encounters, stunning landscapes, and the finest cuisine await you at our camps!
Come join us—I'd love to have you there!
Our kite camps are 6-day intensive courses. We use the windless periods for workshops and training sessions, and we go kiting whenever the wind picks up.
The course offerings are organized and conducted by Get High – Kitesurfing.at in collaboration with our partner kitesurfing school abroad.
These partnerships are at the heart of our kite camps. You'll be integrated into the local kite community so you can get to know not only the spot, but also the people and their culture.
We prefer to choose spots with thermal winds. These spots have the nice feature that the wind is very reliable and usually doesn’t pick up until around noon. That means: enjoy a hearty breakfast, relax and listen to the workshops and seminars, and then head out onto the water!
Thanks to our close friendships and strong connections with the hosts and kitesurfing schools at each destination, we make sure you have everything you need.
On the day you arrive, you’ll be warmly welcomed by instructors from our team. The first day is meant for settling in, getting your bearings, and getting to know the other participants. The kite camp then officially begins on the second day. Small skill-based groups will be formed, daily goals will be set, and participants will be assigned to their respective instructors. Lessons are conducted primarily using Bluetooth headsets. Throughout the week, we’ll also be collecting plenty of video footage of you all, which we’ll then analyze together as a group after dinner, while relaxing with a cold beer, glass of wine, or something else.
In addition to training courses and workshops tailored to different skill levels, there are also plenty of adventures and short trips , such as cliff jumping off a Greek sea cliff, quad biking in the southern Egyptian desert, or a motorboat island tour off the coast of Sicily, and much more.
Simply unforgettable.
As much as we love our home spot in Podersdorf, the air temperature can and does drop below 10°C during certain times of the year. With the right gear, that’s not a problem, but it’s hard to think of “beach vibes” in those conditions. The dates for our kite camps are designed to complement the Neusiedlersee kite season:
+ March / April – so you can start the swimming season in top shape.
+ July – for anyone who wants to vacation abroad during the summer break
+ October – when it’s already getting a bit chilly back home
+ November / December – to avoid the Christmas rush and soak up some serious sun one last time before the depths of winter set in
+ January / February – to combat acute vitamin D deficiency – more info coming soon
Gain new experiences at different spots around the globe with great people. Discover new cultures, broaden your culinary horizons, and improve your kiting skills along the way. As Austria’s first kitesurfing school (and one of the first in Europe), we draw on over 25 years of experience and understand the strengths and weaknesses of current training methods. In standard kitesurfing courses, many important topics tend to be somewhat neglected due to time constraints.
At our camps, we take the time to create the ideal setting to, for example, turn boring basic aerodynamics into an entertaining comedy show. Knowledge of the equipment and its characteristics leads to greater safety in this sport. This also allows you to form your own opinion about what’s available on the kite market and helps you avoid making poor investment decisions when purchasing your own gear.
The real magic, however, lies in the chance to spend several hours a day on the water in pleasant temperatures and with that summer vibe, while back home we’re already having to bundle up in jackets and sweaters.
